Yesterday we looked at a poem called 'Usual Enough', by James K. Baxter. We used his work to inspire us to write our own 'Usual Enough' poems. We hope you enjoy them.
Usual Enough
The park was usual enough; it had a lake, a bridge, a playground, a sky of leaves over it and even a toilet I never went to. My friends and I did what friends do; dozed in the heat, watching the soaring birds, made bandanas, dodged our peculiar parents, sneaked like mice through the alleyways with bark knives, burnt piles of sticks, fought or adventured- Doing nothing important.
